Key Area Meeting
Key Area Meeting (KAM) is one of the internal events of ELSA Network. It gathers ELSA officers who are in charge of key areas: Academic Activities, Moot Court Competitions, Seminars & Conferences, and Student Trainee Exchange Programme. KAM is an international platform focusing on personal exchange of experience, information and new ideas. Important parts of the event are interactive trainings on soft skills, networking, social and cultural exchange. Besides the professional growth, participants will also benefit from personal contact with other colleagues, which will be then reflected in smooth and efficient cooperation in organizing joint events.
After hosting KAM in 2013, we are very much looking forward to welcome you in Bratislava on 6 – 10 September 2017. We strongly believe that KAM 2017 will be an unfogettable ELSA exerience for all participants.
“As President of ELSA Norway I attended KAM Bratislava in 2013. It was very well organised and I had a great time both in and out of workshops.”
Armin Khosnewiszadeh, President ELSA International 2014/2015
The Capital and the largest city of the Slovak Republic has a long and proud history that dates back to pre-Roman times and plenty things to see and do. Bratislava is the administrative, political, industrial, but also the cultural and scientific centre of Slovakia. KAM participants will be offered an opportunity to see the historical and architectural dominants – Bratislava Castle, Devín Castle, gothic St. Martin’s Cathedral, Michael’s Gate, Blue Church or Primatial Palace. They will taste local beers, wines and spirits, enjoy both modern and traditional cuisine in sophisticated restaurants; experience the old-town charm, good music and amazing night life.
“I had an absolutely awesome time in Bratislava during the KAM that took place there in 2013. The city makes the perfect scenery for ELSA officers from all over to meet, exchange ideas and dreams and to have a lot of fun! I wish the organizers the best of luck with organizing a productive and lively KAM again!”
Oda Linneberg Uggen, VP MCC ELSA International 2013/2014
“The Key Are Meeting in Bratislava was the very first international event I attended and I could’t have asked for a better one! The O.C. was amazing, the venue and accommodation were situated right in the city centre, so we truly lived by the motto “last at the party, first at the workshop”. Pure awesomeness!”
Šárka Dimitriadisová, VP STEP ELSA Czech Republic 2013-2015
The accommodation for participants will be provided in the CityHostel. Cityhostel has an excellent location – it is situated inside the quiet yard on the main shopping street, 10 minutes walk from the Workshop venue and in a walking distance to the historical centre, shops, clubs, bars and restaurants. Each of 2,3,4-bedded rooms has an ensuite bathroom with toilet and shower, TV and free WiFi.
The workshops will be held in the premises of Comenius University in Bratislava – the oldest and biggest university in the Slovak Republic. Established in 1919, the University draws on the tradition of Academia Istropolitana that was founded in 1465 in Bratislava by Matthias Corvinus, the King of Hungary. Since its founding, the University has ranked among the best educational institutions on the national level and it has become an internationally recognised centre of scientific study and research.
